Use Physical assets for real estate, vehicles, watches, art, and other things that contribute to net worth but are not financial accounts held by a provider.
Create the asset
- Open Physical assets.
- Select New asset.
- Choose an Entity if available.
- Enter the name.
- Choose an Asset class.
- Mark it Liquid or Illiquid.
- Select the valuation currency and optionally add a note.
- Select Create.
Creating an asset does not create a value. Open its detail and select New valuation.
Record a valuation
Enter the date, value, and an optional note. Hugo stores one valuation per calendar month; a second save for the same month overwrites the existing monthly valuation.
Use a consistent, defensible method for illiquid assets. A professional appraisal, credible comparable sale, financing value, or conservative estimate is better than frequent guesswork.
Editing a valuation corrects it. Deleting is permanent. Archiving the asset removes it from current totals while preserving its history and allowing restoration.
