Every financial account, physical asset, liability, income item, and expense item has its own currency. Hugo supports USD, CZK, EUR, GBP, DKK, SEK, NOK, CHF, PLN, HUF, RON, CAD, JPY, CNY, SGD, AUD, and AED.
Native currency
Choose the currency in which the item is actually stated. Enter the original amount rather than manually converting it.
Display currency
The Default display currency in Settings is Hugo’s normal reporting unit. On the Overview, you can temporarily switch the displayed currency without changing stored values.
For historical charts and performance, values are converted using the rate relevant to each entry date. Current breakdowns use the applicable current rate.
Why totals can move
An unchanged EUR account can rise or fall when viewed in USD because the exchange rate changed. Currency Exposure helps distinguish where the portfolio is denominated and how volatile those currencies have historically been against the selected home/display currency.
Changing the default display currency changes the reporting lens, not the native account records.
