By default, Hugo compares qualifying investment performance with the S&P 500 over the same MoM, YTD, and YoY windows.
The comparison is:
your Modified Dietz return − benchmark price return
It is shown in percentage points. For example, 8.2% versus 6.1% appears as +2.1 p.p. vs S&P 500.
The comparison remains in pure percentage terms. Hugo does not convert the index into your display currency because that would mix market performance with unrelated currency movements.
Benchmark lines and table arrows are shown only for market-investment products. Comparing ordinary savings or tangible assets with an equity index would be misleading.
If benchmark history does not cover the full period, Hugo reports that comparison is unavailable.
To replace the S&P 500 with your own annual yield target, open Settings → Basic settings → Custom yield target, enter the percentage, and save. Clear the value to restore the S&P 500 comparison.
